Samsung was supposed to roll out an update that supports the eArc, but from the looks of it, some of the TV has been downgraded sans the Dolby Atmos support for Netflix. The high contrast ratio, excellent black uniformity, and good local dimming support produce deep blacks in a dark room where HDR is meant to be seen. I just chatted with a Samsung support rep, she confirmed for me that the 2019 Q80R QLED TV is in fact one of the TVs to receive the eARC update.

I have a Q80R sound bar, and I can confirm, I do not have eARC till now. I have a TV that supports ALLM, VRR and Freesync, a reciever that supports 7.2.4 dolby atmos and eARC and an Xbox One X this should be a perfect setup but this refusal to get with the times on audio period my tv dosent go past DD+. Back on topic, I am in the market to buy the Q80R but will not go near Samsung unless they fix the eARC issue. Just a FYI what i was told today. I'd hate to move away from the brand thuogh - it's been over 10+ years with a number of Series 7 TV's in that time. Come on Samsung, the Q80R and Q90R really should have eARC out of the box.
